CD Version

Remember this is a 1.44Mb floppy disk router, space is limited.

Maybe a more functinal version (Routing protocols, VLAN support) that would be distributed as CD images so you could include modules preinstalled and such.

Just my idea.

Please use the search function of this forum

If you had done that you would've found simular posts that also explain the reason not to distribute freesco on cd.

Or more importantly the fact that the FREESCO bootable CD project is alive and well.

have a look at <a href='http://comms.mine.nu/freescopics' target='_blank'>http://comms.mine.nu/freescopics</a>

there you will find the information you seek.

for me,
i'd never touch a floppy disk for at least 2 years!
and rarely see one...

i really hope for a live cd version and save the config to usb flash disk or
even install to hdd.

The scope of the Freesco project is to make the best little router on a floppy disk, and it is without a doubt. Once setup on a floppy, it can be installed on a hard drive. There is even some discussion in this forum of how to make it work on a CD after being initially setup on a floppy. But first and foremost, it is a floppy distribution. If you need more than that, you may need to look elsewhere.
